Great fellowship is being offered by Home Hill Business.

A Little Bit of Sugar in Home Hill is offering free ice cream for people waiting for a piggyback across Plantation Creek.

The Bruce Highway is currently closed to all but high clearance trucks so enterprising truck owners are offing to transport vehicles across the closure at Plantation Creek just south of Ayr.

In their Flood Bulleting at 11.30 am Saturday 9 February 2019 Burdekin Shire Council reported that

The level of the Burdekin River is currently peaking at Burdekin Falls Dam. The level at Inkerman Bridge is 10.95 and steady. It is anticipated that these levels will continue to fall slowly throughout Sunday and into Monday morning.

The following levels are provided as a guidance only and has been based on previous flooding events. The exact levels may vary depending on individual characteristics of the flood.

The river is currently at 10.95m and is steady.

At this level (10.95m):

  • The Rita Island Bridge has approximately 2.75m over the deck.
  • Water is on the reserve at Groper Creek.
  • Both Rita Island and Groper Creek are isolated by road access.
