You are welcome to come and observe proceedings and the workings of Council however the public will be excluded from meetings during deliberation of confidential items in the “Closed” section of the Agenda.
Council meetings are generally held in the John Drysdale Chamber at the Burdekin Shire Council Chambers which is a heritage-listed town hall at 145 Young Street, Ayr, Shire of Burdekin, Queensland, Australia.
It is a Classical architecture style designed by Frederick Smith and built in 1937 by local builder AS Wight and was designated as world heritage site on 13 October 1997.
The Council comprising of the Mayor and six councillors generally meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 9.00am.
