So much is happening around the Shire with new water infrastructure for Ayr and Home Hill, a new Doctor’s Surgery in Home Hill, the excellent Harvest Festival parade, the100 Anniversary Armistice Day and dedication of the Home Hill War Memorial.
It has been a busy month, with regrading of the road to Ravenswood following a trip there which stimulated an idea for a local history museum. Plus water bore upgrades, a makover for Sixteen Street and thoughts for stronger united organisations and safer access to the Burdekin Bridge.
What to do about Council Rates and Water Meter readings. Congratulations to Gavin Falco who won this year’s Ephemera competition. Coming soon... the Home Hill Harvest Festival.
How many concrete steps going up the new Mount Inkerman nature trail? Does Home Hill needs its own identity? Seventh Avenue Footpath should be finished. Balancing the budget while at the same time ensuring a continuation of improvements where possible.
Congratulations to the new committee at Wunjunga. So what did you think of the cane cutting festival (Sweet Days and Hot Nights)? A simple solution for 13th Avenue would be to line mark the road to make the motorist aware of the changing traffic conditions.
I enjoyed ANZAC Day. It went very well and I was proud to be there at the dawn parade and the gun fire breakfast. The new walking or goat track on Inkerman Hill is very popular with the locals.
There is so much good news in Home Hill now it almost makes me cry. A new footpath is being constructed along 7th Avenue. A new aerator on top of the water tower.
Thanks to all of Home Hill for the positive feedback I’ve had in regard to the public wall art. Creating local jobs in our community sounds good but what can you do about it?
